Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 15, 2026
Welcome to Scripcha, your sacred space for Scripture, personal growth, and community. We respect your privacy and are deeply committed to protecting the study data and personal information you create and share with us. This Privacy Policy details how we handle information across our mobile application, Scripcha Guide AI features, AI transcription tools, optional notifications, and Cloud Backup services.
1. Information We Collect
Scripcha is built with a privacy-first architecture. We collect minimal data to provide, synchronize, and improve your reading and reflection experience:
- Study Data: This includes your highlighted verses, personal bookmarks, reading progress logs, daily reading streaks, prayer lists, and journal entries.
- Device Information: We store a randomized installation ID for local backup support and, when you choose Sign in with Apple, a secure Apple account identifier to connect your sync profile.
- Onboarding Preferences: Non-personally identifiable questionnaire selections (such as preferred reading pace and spiritual focus areas) are processed locally or within our secure Cloud Service.
- Guide Usage Data: If you use Scripcha Guide, we may log the mode used and basic token counts to monitor performance and reliability.
- Live Transcription & Transcript Requests: If you use live sermon transcription, speech recognition and microphone access are requested on-device at the moment you start capture. The resulting transcript may be stored on your device and, if you choose Scripcha Guide or cloud backup features, the transcript text you submit may be processed by our secure service providers to return summaries, reflections, prayers, or backup results.
- Reminder Preferences: If you opt in to reminders, we store your reminder choices and notification preferences on your device so Scripcha can schedule local notifications you request.
2. Cloud Sync, AI Transcription & Notifications
When you choose to back up data, use transcript-based AI tools, or enable reminders:
- Your study snapshots and any transcript text you choose to submit for AI or backup features are transmitted securely via SSL/TLS encryption.
- Data is stored through Scripcha's Cloudflare-based backend, with optional persistent storage bindings configured by the app operator and secure service providers used to complete transcript-based AI features or cloud backup requests.
- Saved transcripts may be stored locally on your device and included in cloud backups if you choose to keep them.
- Reminder notifications are delivered using Apple's local notification framework and your device-level notification settings.
- We do not sell, rent, or monetize your study data, transcripts, or reminder activity with any third-party advertisers or tracking platforms.
3. Local Storage
By default, all your highlights, bookmarks, and journals are stored natively on your iPhone using high-performance local storage (SwiftData). Your reflections remain exclusively on your device unless you initiate a backup manually or connect a cloud profile.
4. Security
We deploy robust industry-standard organizational and technical measures to protect your digital space. However, please maintain control over your device passcode and iCloud backups to ensure maximum security.
5. Delete Account
If you sign in with Apple, you can request account deletion directly inside the Profile screen of the app. Deleting your account removes synced study data stored for cloud backup and guide history.
6. Sources & Credits
- Dramatized Audio: Bible Brain by Faith Comes By Hearing is used when configured for streaming access. Some offline fallback recordings may be bundled from public-domain archive sources.
- Map Data Attribution: Bible geography references and future GeoJSON expansion are credited to OpenBible.info under CC BY.
- Kids Stories: Simplified Bible story retellings are written for Scripcha and are not copied from third-party children's Bible products.
- Kids Illustrations: Scripcha uses curated illustration assets for in-app Bible story moments. Rights in third-party images remain with the original creator, contributor, or platform licensor under the terms applicable to that asset.

3. Intellectual Property
The layout, design elements, Gothic Arch artwork, custom-styled assets, the Scripcha brand name, and the proprietary code base are the sole property of Scripcha. Bible text translations are reproduced and licensed in accordance with their respective publisher guidelines. Third-party kids illustration assets remain the property of their respective owners unless expressly identified in the app as Scripcha-owned content.
4. Source Attribution
- Bible Brain / Faith Comes By Hearing remains the source for licensed dramatized audio where enabled.
- OpenBible.info map data and geography references are used with required attribution under CC BY.
- Public-domain archive audio, when bundled, remains clearly labeled as public domain in app credits.
- Pixabay and other properly attributed sources may be used for curated external kids illustrations when suitable assets are available.
5. Kids Media Curation
Scripcha may feature curated kids illustration assets selected for Bible-based relevance and age-considerate presentation. This selection is reviewed by Scripcha for in-app storytelling, but third-party ownership and availability remain governed by the original source terms.
6. AI Transcription & Notifications
If you choose live transcription, transcript-based AI tools, or reminder features, you grant Scripcha permission to process the text and device permissions required to complete those requests. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights and permissions needed to record or submit any spoken content for transcription. Reminder delivery depends on Apple's local notification framework and device-level settings, so message timing and delivery cannot be guaranteed.
7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
Scripcha is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. While we strive to maintain uninterrupted cloud services, timely transcription processing, and fast response times, we make no guarantees about service availability during cloud maintenance or third-party provider interruptions. External kids illustration assets depend on third-party services and internet connectivity. Under no circumstances will Scripcha or its developers be held liable for any loss of device-specific local data, delayed notifications, incomplete transcription results, or unavailability, removal, or later modification of third-party media.
8. Agreement Updates
We reserve the right to modify these terms as Scripcha evolves. We will notify you of any major changes by updating the effective date at the top of this document or through in-app notice when appropriate. For support, please use the support option available inside the app.
